How to Understand eBay Bulk Upload Results and Retry Failed Records

Start with the processed results

Keep the original submission unchanged and download the results associated with that exact upload. A listings export is not a results report. Export Excel files as CSV and preserve identifiers as text so leading zeros survive. The analyser expects a header row with status and error fields; unsupported formats need a fresh export.

Investigate one code at a time

Prioritise groups affecting the most failed records. Read each original message because the same code can name different fields or category requirements. The tool links documented codes to the eBay reference and leaves unknown codes for manual review. Warnings and partial outcomes are shown separately and should not automatically be resubmitted. Account restrictions and service failures may need action outside your CSV.

Review candidate retries before uploading

Supply the exact original CSV to match failed records using unique identifiers, or reported line numbers when no shared identifier column exists. Line matching assumes the header is record 1. Duplicate identifiers and conflicting outcomes are excluded. Variation or grouped submissions require parent and context records, so retry export is disabled for recognised group templates.

A candidate retry contains original values, including formulas. It is a working file rather than a repaired upload. Correct the underlying problems, review actions and identifiers, and confirm the listing outcome in Seller Hub before submitting. Keep both the original and the results report for reconciliation.
