How to Merge Recurring Microsoft Teams Attendance Reports

Microsoft Teams recurring meetings produce individual attendance CSV reports for every session. Use Microsoft Teams Attendance Report Merger to merge multiple meeting files, eliminate duplicate rejoin records, and export a master attendance register.

Download the attendance CSV after each Teams meeting

In Teams on desktop or web, open Chat, choose the past meeting chat, open Attendance and select Download to save the CSV. Reports usually appear about five minutes after the event ends. Download each occurrence separately for a recurring series.

Use the organizer account or an eligible co-organizer account. Co-organizers cannot access channel-meeting reports, and their report access is limited to events scheduled in Teams rather than Outlook.

If no report appears, check the meeting account and occurrence, allow time for processing, and ask the organizer or IT administrator whether attendance reporting was enabled. Instant channel meetings do not support attendance reports. PageUtil cannot retrieve a missing Teams report.

Keep each original CSV and identify its meeting date. Upload the downloaded files to the merger; do not substitute a screenshot or a manually copied attendee list.

What to run

Open Microsoft Teams Attendance Report Merger and drag all session attendance CSV files from your recurring meeting series into the drop zone.

File parsing and matrix merging run 100% locally in your web browser. Participant names, corporate email addresses, and student identifiers are never transmitted across the network.

The merger detects UTF-16LE, UTF-8, and tab or comma delimiters, extracts session timestamps from header metadata, and aggregates multiple join and leave events per participant into a consolidated duration.

Optionally paste a participant roster CSV (Name and Email) to compare expected participants against recorded joins. An absent mark means no matching attendance record was found; it does not establish whether an absence was excused.

How to read the result

Inspect the consolidated matrix table showing attendee names, emails, total attended sessions, overall percentage rates, and session-by-session presence.

Verify in-meeting reconnects. If an attendee temporarily lost connection and rejoined, the merger combines their separate join rows into one continuous attendance record, displaying the true duration and total join count.

Review attendance rates across the entire series to identify students or employees at risk of missing mandatory compliance or training thresholds.

What to open next

If you need to split, clean, or deduplicate email subscriber CSVs, use Email List Cleaner & CSV Batch Splitter.

If you need to map contact lists into Google Workspace, format them with Google Contacts CSV Import Mapper.

Open your downloaded consolidated CSV in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to calculate grades, certificates, or attendance payroll bonuses.

Stop when

Stop when all meeting dates line up in the matrix table, each participant reflects their true total attended sessions, and the exported CSV opens cleanly in your spreadsheet program.

Verify that guests who joined under informal nicknames are properly matched with their official email records where required.

Frequently asked questions

How do I generate an attendance report in Teams after a meeting?

Use the organizer or eligible co-organizer account, open the past meeting chat, select Attendance and download its CSV. Allow about five minutes after the meeting. Download each recurring occurrence separately, then load those files into the local merger.

How does this tool combine attendance for recurring Microsoft Teams meetings?

The merger parses multiple individual Teams attendance CSV exports, extracts meeting timestamps, links participant records using their email or display name, merges multiple join/leave events, and outputs a single combined attendance register.

What happens if a student leaves and reconnects to the meeting?

Teams exports record a new row each time someone reconnects. The merger detects these duplicate rows within the same session, calculates the first join and last leave times, and sums the active duration so each person is counted once.

Does my attendance or student data leave the browser?

No. All parsing, decoding, and matrix calculations run entirely locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. No participant data or meeting information is sent to our servers.
