What the result means
The scanner accesses local image data through an HTML5 canvas or standard WebRTC media streams. A WebAssembly-accelerated computer vision scanner (jsQR) locates the finder patterns, corrects perspective distortion, and decodes the payload bytes. The payload engine parses structured data into typed inspection views for URLs (with UTM tracking parameters and URL shortener detection), Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contacts, email mailto envelopes, SMS messages, phone numbers, and geographic coordinates. Neither the camera feed, image files, nor decoded payloads are sent to any remote server.

Questions
Does my camera stream or uploaded photo leave this device?
No. All camera frames and image files are processed strictly in local device memory via client-side JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted over the network.
Can I paste a QR code screenshot from my clipboard?
Yes. Click 'Paste Screenshot' or press Ctrl+V while on the page to automatically inspect and decode an image from your clipboard.
Why does the scanner flag URL shorteners?
Shorteners (such as bit.ly or tinyurl.com) obscure the final destination. The scanner identifies known redirect domains so you can verify the integrity of a link before navigating to it.
Can a browser join a Wi-Fi network automatically after scanning?
No. Web browsers do not have operating system permission to configure network interfaces. The scanner extracts and displays the SSID, security type, and password so you can connect manually.
