How to Create vCard QR Codes for Business Cards

A contact QR code can store vCard text for a compatible phone to import. Use QR Code Generator to create a concise contact, inspect the payload and test the saved fields before printing business cards.

Three review steps: How to Create vCard QR Codes for Business Cards
Review the source, inspect the output and test the finished result.

Prepare a small contact record

Choose vCard / Contact and enter the full name. Add only the company, phone, email, website or other fields the recipient needs. These are editorial choices and tool fields, not a claim that every field is mandatory in the vCard standard.

A contact payload can be decoded offline, although opening its website or contacting the person requires the relevant service. Camera and address-book support varies, so test the intended phones rather than promising every scanner will offer the same action.

Inspect density and stored fields

Every extra field can increase the payload. Embedding photograph bytes is usually inappropriate for a small printed card because it can exceed capacity or produce a dense symbol. This does not mean that every photo payload causes a scan failure.

Check the generated module count and chosen correction level before selecting print dimensions. Character count alone does not establish a version or a reliable physical size. Keep a clear four-module margin and use a plain background.

Verify the imported contact

Download the artwork and inspect a supported raster image with QR Code Scanner. Compare name components, international phone number and email with the source. Then scan the physical proof and review the proposed contact before saving.

After saving a test contact, check that the intended fields survived, then remove the test record if appropriate. Do not include private notes or a home address unless they belong in a publicly readable code. The generator’s local processing does not make a printed contact confidential.

Frequently asked questions

Must every vCard contain a company and email?

No. Distinguish standard requirements from optional contact fields and your editorial choices. Include the fields the recipient needs.

Are contact details private because generation is local?

No. Anyone who can decode the finished symbol can read its contact payload.

Does scanning always save the contact automatically?

No. The scanner and address-book application control available actions; inspect the proposed fields before saving.
