What the result means

The symbol is Code 128 in set B, which covers printable ASCII from space through tilde. Each character becomes a value, the values are weighted by position starting at one, and a checksum modulo 103 is appended. Start code B and the stop pattern sit at the ends. Bars come from a fixed table: a one is a dark module and a zero is a gap. The drawing is an SVG of those bars only, with a quiet margin at the sides, and your text is not placed in the graphic. Empty input is rejected, and so is any character outside that ASCII range. EAN is not offered, because it needs a different check digit and a fixed length. Whether a scanner reads the SVG depends on pixels, contrast, and the margin.

Questions

Which format is this?

Code 128 B. It encodes printable ASCII, adds a checksum, and does not offer EAN.

Can I scan it?

A scan needs enough pixels and contrast; the SVG is the symbol, not a promise about a particular scanner. Leave a quiet margin and try the device you actually use.

Why was a line break rejected?

Set B allows characters from space through tilde, including a space or a hyphen. A line break sits outside ASCII 32 to 126, and empty text is rejected too.
