What the result means

The result is a lowercase slug you could use as a URL path segment. The title is normalised with NFKD, combining marks are removed, and the rest is lowercased with English rules. Every character that is not a basic letter or a digit becomes a hyphen, repeated hyphens collapse, and hyphens on the ends are removed. Accents disappear, so an accented e becomes a plain e. Letters that are still outside a to z, and symbols, do not stay in the slug. If nothing letter-like or numeric remains, the page says the title had no letters or digits instead of inventing a path. The slug is not reserved on any website.

Questions

What is a slug?

A slug is the short, readable piece of a URL path, usually lowercase words joined by hyphens. This tool builds that piece from a title. It does not check whether the path is already taken.

Are accents removed?

Yes. The title is normalised and combining marks are stripped, so an accented letter becomes the plain letter underneath. Characters that are still not a to z or a digit turn into hyphens. A letter that does not decompose into a through z, such as German eszett, becomes a hyphen instead.

Why does the result say the title had no letters or digits?

Every character outside a to z and 0 to 9 was turned into a hyphen, and hyphens at the ends were removed. If nothing else was left, there is no slug to show. Symbols, punctuation, and letters that do not reduce to a through z all fall into that case.
