What the result means
The result marks every line as unchanged, removed, or added. Removed lines are only on the left, and added lines are only on the right. Matching uses a longest common subsequence, so a shared line stays in place and the edits sit around it. Whitespace is part of the line: spaces and tabs are not trimmed or ignored. The comparison is by whole line, so one changed word marks that entire line. The hard limit is 5,000 lines on a side, and a longer paste stops with an error instead of building a huge table. The text is not uploaded. A carriage return is kept, because stripping it would hide a character.

Questions
Does this ignore whitespace?
No. Spaces, tabs, and every other character are compared exactly. A line that changed only by a trailing space is shown as removed on the left and added on the right. There is no option to ignore whitespace.
Is the text uploaded?
No. Both pastes stay in the browser, and comparing them does not send them anywhere. Leaving the page clears the text with the page. The tool has no upload control.
Does a small edit inside a line show the changed words only?
No. The diff is line by line, not character by character. If one word changes, the old line is marked removed and the new line is marked added. Shared lines on either side of that edit stay unchanged.
