Free Stripe Payout Reconciliation Tool

Explain a Stripe payout from the itemized reconciliation CSV. See fees, refunds and disputes by payout, then compare one optional bank line locally.

Required payout reconciliation export

In the Stripe Dashboard open Reporting, then Reports, then Payout reconciliation. Set the dates to the estimated arrival dates and download the Itemized CSV from the Payout reconciliation section. Keep the payout id, currency, gross, fee, net and reporting category columns. Files stay in this browser. No Stripe or bank login is asked for.

Or drop the itemized export here.

No itemized file selected.

Optional payout & bank evidence

One row per payout, with id, amount, currency and status. This is how a category-only download is caught.

No payout list selected.

Date, description and amount. A line is a possible match only when the amount agrees.

No bank file selected.

What the result means

The expected deposit is the sum of the net column for one automatic payout id and one settlement currency. Each reporting category keeps its own gross, fee and net. Reserves, Connect transfers and unfamiliar categories stay visible. A blank payout id is unsettled and is excluded. A payout or payout reversal row is the transfer itself, so it is not added again. Gross charges are cash settled in that payout, not recognized revenue, and customer-facing amounts are not converted or added. With a payout list, the page compares that amount with the net sum and flags a short group. A bank line is a possible match only when one line has the same amount near the estimated arrival. A nearby but different amount is shown as a gap, not as a match. Manual and instant payouts are not reconstructed.

Questions

Which Stripe CSV should I download?

Use Reporting, then Reports, then Payout reconciliation. Set the dates to the estimated arrival dates and download the Itemized CSV from the Payout reconciliation section. A payments export does not name the payout for each balance transaction.

Why is the payout different from the charges I see for that week?

A payout contains the balance transactions that became available for that payout, not every charge created in the same calendar week. Refunds and disputes from earlier charges can land in a later payout.

Does a matching bank amount mean the deposit is reconciled?

No. A possible match means one bank line has the same amount near the estimated arrival, or a trace id points at one line. It does not see a fee your bank took afterwards, and it is not a posting in your accounts.

Can this calculate deferred revenue or foreign exchange gain?

No. Settlement gross, fee and net are used as Stripe exported them. Customer-facing amounts in another currency are not converted. Subscription revenue that should be recognized later is outside this file.

What if I only downloaded charges?

The sum of net will still be shown, and it will be short. Add the payout list, one row per payout with its amount, and the page flags a group whose net does not equal that amount.
