What the result means
Canva offers two primary methods for generating bulk designs from tabular data: direct Bulk Create app uploads (which officially enforce a 300-row and 60-column panel limit) and Canva Sheets (which supports large datasets with generation selections capped at 300 rows and 150 columns). When files exceed direct limits, contain duplicate headers, or include unflattened Excel formulas and merged cells, Canva imports fail or generate blank records. This tool evaluates your dataset entirely in your browser using local Web Workers. It checks data bounds against both direct Bulk Create and Canva Sheets rules, inspects Excel workbook structures, normalizes European semicolon delimiters, verifies header uniqueness for Canva field binding tags (such as {{Name}}), and identifies columns containing direct image links. Datasets exceeding 300 rows automatically switch to Canva Sheets workflow guidance or can be partitioned into numbered, header-preserved Canva CSV batches.

Questions
What is the difference between Canva Bulk Create app limits and Canva Sheets limits?
Canva's direct Bulk Create app upload drawer officially caps datasets at 300 data rows and 60 columns. In contrast, Canva Sheets has no overall row or column limit for storing data, but when you select a cell range and run Bulk Create from Canva Sheets, that selection is capped at 300 rows and 150 columns. Datasets with more than 300 rows can be imported into Canva Sheets and generated in 300-row selection batches, or split into batches using our tool.
Why did Canva Bulk Create reject my Excel (.xlsx) file?
Canva's Excel parser is notably strict and frequently fails on workbooks that contain multiple worksheets, uncalculated formulas, merged cells, or complex XML formatting. If your Excel file fails to upload, download our clean comma-separated CSV export (which flattens formatting and strips multi-sheet complexities) or test Canva with our minimal test workbook.
Why did Canva Bulk Create stop working or reject my CSV?
Canva Bulk Create typically fails because a spreadsheet exceeds 300 data rows per generation, exceeds 60 columns in the direct app drawer (or 150 in Canva Sheets), contains duplicate or empty column headers, uses European semicolon delimiters, or includes unescaped quotes and line breaks that corrupt row alignment.
Can I use web image URLs to bulk-insert photos into Canva designs?
No. Canva Bulk Create and Canva Sheets do not render external image URLs into photo frames. Passing an image URL as dynamic data will simply print the raw web address as text inside your design. To bulk-insert pictures, you must upload images directly into Canva's Bulk Create image mapping drawer or insert embedded images into an Excel sheet.
How does batch splitting work for large datasets exceeding 300 rows?
Our tool splits datasets exceeding Canva's 300-row limit into separate batches of 300 rows or fewer. Every generated batch retains the original column headers, normalizes delimiters to standard RFC 4180 commas, and neutralizes spreadsheet formula triggers to ensure smooth imports.
Does any of my spreadsheet or customer data leave my device?
No. Parsing, limit checking, and batch compression happen strictly on your local computer using Web Workers and JavaScript. No spreadsheet records, emails, or personal identifiers are transmitted across the network.
