Name and mail

How to check whether a domain has IPv6

A v6-only network fails and you need to know if the name publishes AAAA. Query it with DNS Lookup.

NOERROR with answers, NXDOMAIN, and NOERROR with zero answers are different DNS results.
AAAA is a separate query from A, so answers and zero answers are different DNS results.

What to run

Use DNS Lookup. DNS Lookup is DNS-over-HTTPS from the browser and does not follow CNAMEs.

How to read the result

One or more AAAA answers means v6 is published.

Empty answers do not mean the host lacks v6 on some other name.

Check the canonical name too.

What to open next

If the label is an alias, use DNS Lookup for CNAME first, then AAAA on the target.
